Air Source Heat Pump Course

Who Should Attend?

This course is ideal for:

• Qualified plumbing or heating engineers (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) seeking to expand their expertise in heat pump technology.
• Heating installers with at least 3 years of experience in wet central heating systems who want to diversify their offering.
• Engineers in training working toward recognized certifications who want to gain foundational knowledge and practical experience in heat pump installation.

What to Expect

This 3-day heat pump course combines practical and theoretical training to give you the confidence and expertise to:

• Understand the requirements to install, commission, and hand over air source heat pump systems.
• Install, commission, and hand over heat pump systems effectively.
• Inspect, service, and maintain air source heat pump systems.
• Deliver quality installations tailored to client needs and demands.

Course Content

This course will provide hands-on training and in-depth guidance in the following areas:

• Identifying the right heat pump system for each installation.
• Safely installing ground source and air source heat pump systems.
• Commissioning and handing over systems to clients.
• Performing inspections, servicing, and maintenance.

*Pre-Requisites: (Learners must hold and evidence)

• N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence; or
• N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilating (Domestic Installation) or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence; or
• N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilating (Industrial and Commercial Installation) or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence; or
• N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Oil-Fired Technical Services or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence; or
• N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Gas Installation and Maintenance or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence. or
• Heating installers with minimum 3 years of experience installing wet central heating systems, evidenced either by manufacturer courses certification or Gas Safe Register, OFTEC, MCS or HETAS registration.
