Pipe In ScreedPipe In Screed

This is our most popular underfloor heating system for new builds with screed floors. Screed systems deliver exceptional heat output and outstanding energy efficiency.

Flexi-FitFlexi-Fit

Oceanfloor Flexi-Fit is a versatile, multi-directional panel for fast, flexible underfloor heating installation in retrofit and new build projects.

Routed Low ProfileRouted Low Profile

This underfloor heating system uses an 18mm high density screed type board and 12mm pipes to create a thermal mass, transferring the heat to the floor above.

Routed Low-Profile LightRouted Low-Profile Light

Oceanfloor Routed Low Profile Light is an ultra-lightweight underfloor heating system with a slim 20mm XPS foil-faced insulation board and 16mm pipes for efficient heat transfer.

The perfect pairing
Air source heat pump

The perfect pairing

An air source heat pump paired with an underfloor heating system creates the perfect energy-efficient solution. Underfloor heating operates at lower temperatures, making it ideal for maximising the performance of a heat pump. Together, they deliver consistent, comfortable warmth while significantly reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions.

Water underfloor heating FAQs

Answers to common questions about our Oceanfloor water systems. For general questions about underfloor heating, including water vs electric, see our underfloor heating guide.

How does water underfloor heating work?

Warm water from your boiler or heat pump flows through a network of pipes laid under the floor. The pipes warm the floor surface evenly, which then heats the room from the ground up. A manifold sends the water to each room’s pipe circuit, and thermostats control how much heat each room receives.

Does water underfloor heating work with a heat pump?

Yes. Because underfloor heating warms a large surface area, it can heat a room using lower water temperatures than radiators need. That makes it well suited to air source and ground source heat pumps, which run most efficiently at low flow temperatures. Oceanfloor systems are designed to work with low-temperature heat sources as well as gas boilers.

Can I connect water underfloor heating to my existing boiler?

In most cases, yes. Underfloor heating runs at lower water temperatures than radiators, so the system usually includes a mixing unit at the manifold to blend the water down to the right temperature. That lets underfloor heating and radiators run from the same boiler. Our team can check your setup as part of a free design.

Which Oceanfloor system is right for my project?

For new builds or a new screed, Pipe in Screed and New Build Flexi-Fit are designed to be laid before the screed. Over an existing solid floor, Low Profile Flexi-Fit can be covered with as little as 20mm of screed. Where floor height is limited, or over floorboards, the Routed Low Profile panels (18mm) and Routed Low Profile Light panels (20mm) keep the build-up to a minimum.

What is a manifold and do I need one?

A manifold is the central unit that distributes warm water from your boiler or heat pump to each underfloor heating circuit, then returns it. Every water underfloor heating system needs one. A single manifold can serve several rooms, with each room’s pipe circuit connected to its own port so it can be controlled separately.

Can I control the temperature in each room?

Yes. Each room or zone can have its own thermostat. It opens and closes the matching circuit on the manifold, so you can heat rooms to different temperatures and on different schedules.

Can water underfloor heating be installed upstairs or on a timber floor?

Yes. Our Routed Low Profile panels can be laid directly onto floorboards as well as concrete, so they’re suitable for upper floors and timber subfloors where a screed isn’t practical.

Does a screed floor need time to dry before the heating is used?

Yes. A new screed must be left to dry before the heating is commissioned and floor finishes are laid. Follow the screed manufacturer’s guidance for drying times, then bring the heating up to temperature gradually. Low-profile panel systems avoid long drying times because they use little or no wet screed.

Do you offer a design service?

Yes. Tell us about your project, including the room sizes, floor construction and how you heat your home, and our team will design a free, bespoke underfloor heating layout and specify the system you need.

Do you install underfloor heating?

We don’t offer installation, but we supply the full system and our technical team can support your installer through the design and installation process.
