FAQ

HVAC Courses FAQ's

We've answered some of the most common questions we get about heat pump training below. If there's anything else you'd like to know, feel free to get in touch — we're happy to help.

What HVAC and renewables training courses do you offer?

We offer industry-recognised HVAC and renewable energy training courses including LCL FGAS Category 1 certification, the LCL Awards Level 3 Heat Pump Installer Course, the LCL Water Regulations qualification, and Panasonic-accredited Aquarea heat pump training.

These courses are designed for qualified heating, plumbing and air conditioning engineers looking to upskill or meet legal and industry requirements.

Who can take these heating and air conditioning training courses?

Our courses are ideal for qualified professionals in the plumbing, heating and HVAC sectors. You should have existing experience or relevant qualifications for courses such as FGAS Category 1 or the LCL Heat Pump Installer Course.

If you're not sure which course suits your experience, our team is happy to advise.

What’s included in the Panasonic-accredited heat pump training course?

Our Panasonic-accredited heat pump course is a one-day training session that covers product knowledge, system setup, commissioning and fault finding.

It’s perfect for installers looking to work confidently with Panasonic systems and unlock access to the 7-year extended warranty scheme.

How long is the heat pump training course?

Our manufacturer accredited courses are one day courses. However our LCL air source heat pump installer course is typically 3 days, combining theory with practical, hands-on experience. Some courses can also be combined with F-Gas training depending on your needs.

Why do I need a Water Regulations qualification?

The LCL Water Regulations qualification is essential for plumbing and heating engineers working on mains water systems in the UK. It ensures you meet the legal requirements set out in the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations and is often required to carry out compliant plumbing work.

This qualification also serves as a key prerequisite for installers wishing to take the LCL Heat Pump Installer Course, if they don’t already hold a recognised plumbing qualification that includes water regulations training.

Does the LCL heat pump training course make me MCS certified?

No, the LCL Awards Heat Pump Installer course is a key part of the process but doesn’t make you MCS certified on its own.

MCS is a company-level certification. After completing the course, you'll need to go through assessment with a certification body and meet MCS standards, including a quality management system and at least one compliant installation

Do your courses come with a recognised qualification or certificate?

Yes. On successful completion of your course, you'll receive an industry-recognised certificate that can support your compliance with legislation, MCS application, or manufacturer warranty eligibility.

Do you deliver training nationally?

We are based in Mansfield; however, we’ve trained installers across the UK. We also offer bespoke on-site training courses tailored to our customers’ specific needs, including group bookings. For more information, please get in touch.
